Yevgeny Ivanov
The Profumo Affair was a 1963 British political scandal in which Secretary of State for War John Profumo had a brief sexual relationship with 19-year-old model Christine Keeler, who was simultaneously involved with Soviet naval attaché Yevgeny Ivanov. Stephen Ward befriends Soviet assistant naval attaché Yevgeny Ivanov. Ward's social connections included diplomats; MI5 aware of relationship and saw intelligence opportunity.
