John Profumo
The Profumo Affair was a 1963 British political scandal in which Secretary of State for War John Profumo had a brief sexual relationship with 19-year-old model Christine Keeler, who was simultaneously involved with Soviet naval attaché Yevgeny Ivanov. On the weekend of July 8-9, 1961, John Profumo and his wife, actress Valerie Hobson, were guests at Cliveden for a dinner party hosted by Lord Astor.
